Erie County voter registration closes Monday; early voting starts Tuesday

Registration for the Nov. 3 election closes Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. Early voting begins Oct. 6 at the Erie County Board of Elections in Sandusky.

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 3 election is 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, with early in-person voting beginning Tuesday, Oct. 6.

The Erie County Board of Elections lists registration tools, sample ballots and absentee voting information. Voters can register or update their registration online.

Early voting takes place at the board's office, 2900 Columbus Ave., Room 101, in Sandusky. Hours for the first week are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 6-9.

The Ohio secretary of state's 2026 voting schedule lists later evening and weekend hours. Early voting ends Nov. 1.

Voting by mail

Absentee voting by mail also begins Oct. 6. Applications must be received by 8:30 p.m. Oct. 27. Domestic absentee ballots must reach the board by 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3; voters should allow time for mail delivery.

Election Day polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3. For local voting questions, call the board at 419-627-7601.
