Huron County to honor Extol, Graham and Plymouth coffee shop Wednesday

The Growth Partnership's free Oct. 7 awards event in Monroeville recognizes a Norwalk expansion, economic development work and a restored coffee shop.

Huron County Growth Partnership will honor a Norwalk manufacturer, a local economic development advocate and a Plymouth coffee shop Wednesday, Oct. 7, at its annual awards event in Monroeville.

Network After Work Annual Awards runs from 5-7 p.m. at the Monroeville Village Barn, 131 S. Main St. The organizer's event listing says attendance is free and provides a registration link.

Extol of Ohio will receive the Business Achievement Award for an expansion at its Norwalk facility. In its Sept. 25 announcement, the partnership describes a $6 million project adding a 67,500-square-foot building and 35 jobs. The announcement does not say how many of those jobs have been filled.

In an Aug. 27 announcement, Extol said the project nearly doubles its fabricating space and adds equipment for making industrial insulation. The company said the added space and equipment were already in use.

Donald M. Graham will receive the Pushing the Envelope Award. The partnership credits his work supporting employers, development projects and downtown revitalization in Willard.

The Entrepreneurial Spirit Award goes to The Coffee House of Plymouth, co-owned by Bruce Tanner and Katie Snook. The partnership said they acquired the property from the Huron County Land Bank in 2020, renovated the deteriorated house and opened the coffee shop in 2025.

The evening will include remarks from Team NEO CEO Matt Dolan and live music by The Locals, according to the partnership. Questions about the event can be directed to Kayla Cross at 419-217-1236.
