Oakland Cemetery fall cleanup starts Oct. 5; take home decorations you want to keep

Families with decorations on graves at Oakland Cemetery have until the end of the day Sunday, Oct. 4, to collect anything they want to keep. The city of Sandusky starts its annual fall cleanup there Monday, Oct. 5.

During the cleanup, city staff will remove and throw away all decorative items throughout the cemetery so crews can do grounds maintenance. The city says new decorations may be placed starting Saturday, Oct. 10.

Oakland Cemetery and Memorial Park is on Milan Road just south of Perkins Avenue. Questions go to the cemetery office at 419-627-5842.
