Sandusky's downtown Halloween program will include trick-or-treat, a fire department pumpkin drop and a free family costume cruise Saturday, Oct. 31, the city announced.

Downtown trick-or-treat runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the pumpkin drop at 1 p.m. The Goodtime I costume cruise is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

The city said the cruise requires no tickets and takes passengers on a first-come, first-served basis. It did not list a passenger limit or cruise duration in its official event announcement.

The city lists the downtown program from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and says it is free and open to everyone. A map of participating trick-or-treat locations will be posted on the event page before Halloween.

The same announcement lists a farmers market pet costume contest at 10 a.m. and the Sandusky Hallows Market and Amateur Strongman Competition from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jackson Street Pier. The market and competition are presented by Sandusky Witches Walk and Strongman Champions League.

Citywide trick-or-treat is scheduled separately, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Families should check the city's event page for the participating-location map and any updates.
