Erie County hazardous-waste collection is Saturday; registration required
The Oct. 10 collection at the county landfill is for district residents. Businesses and latex paint are excluded.
Erie County Solid Waste District residents must register before bringing household hazardous waste to the county landfill for a collection Saturday, Oct. 10.
The collection runs from 1-3 p.m. at the Erie County Landfill, 10102 Hoover Road in Milan. Businesses cannot participate, according to the county's event notice.
Latex paint will not be accepted. The county directs residents to the registration form for the list of materials eligible for collection, so residents should check that list before loading their vehicles.
The registration form confirms the Oct. 10 date and says registration is required to attend. It asks for an email address on its opening page.
Residents with questions can call Environmental Services at 419-433-7303. The county also maintains a household hazardous-waste page with disposal contacts for items such as motor oil, antifreeze and fluorescent bulbs. Those separate drop-off options may have restrictions or fees; call the listed provider before making a trip.
